Google maps - Japan

For a cool look at how crowded downtown Tokyo and Japan is click:

Google Maps - Tokyo

Then go closer in or further out using the slider on the left side. Drag the map to move around the city. Also you can see street names in Japanese using the map button in the upper left.

Diane and Kevin: As you scan around Japan, can you see any places you were at?

That was cool. I thought Google maps was limited to the U.S. I'll have to look up the old addresses where we lived and see if I can see anything. Tokyo is so large that it's hard to recognize specific things. I zoomed in on some mountains, too. We'll have to see if we can google places like Desiree's or when Amy finds out more information, maybe we can google that!

Google just opened up detailed maps of the world last month. Right now the high resolution maps like Japan are limitied to major urban areas, but there are some neat things to see. Click on:

and you will see some of the latest things things that people have posted.
