Tonight Alena participated in the Bloomington City Spelling Bee and competed against 41 other students from public and private schools in the city, grade 6-8. After about 6 rounds, she made it to the round for third place with 5 other students. Although the word "scourge" kept her from placing, we were very proud of her and excited she made it as far as she did. Yeh, Alena!!
